JOB OPENING - Web Developer/Programmer - ASP, ASP.NET
We Are:
An established Little Rock web development firm (13 years) specializing in designing, programming, hosting and maintaining interactive web sites, web applications, content management systems and databases using Internet-based technologies, while also providing print work and e-media services.
Looking For:
Candidate with experience who is talented, team oriented and can technically conceptualize, analyze and program professional web sites and web applications including e-commerce, database and content management systems. You need to have proven web programming knowledge using ASP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, VBScript, C#, Visual Studio, Dreamweaver, FrontPage and HTML (hand-coding), including database development and integration skills.
You should have a friendly, positive attitude and work cooperatively and reliably with clients and staff. You need good verbal and written communication skills, and be a progressive thinker. You should be a self-starter with strong organizational and problem solving skills for creating solutions to challenging situations, and have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Approach projects with a can-do attitude and a realization of your role as "the builder" within the web development team.
- Evaluate, plan, estimate and execute dynamic, flexible, and efficient Internet solutions for clients in a timely manner.
- Develop professional programming and coding for web sites and web applications using ASP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, VBScript, C#, Visual Studio, Dreamweaver, Frontpage and HTML (hand-coding).
- Develop and integrate database-driven web sites and web applications using SQL, SQL Server and MySQL.
- Understand CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and XHTML/XML standards.
- Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing of web sites.
- Execute day-to-day web site updates, including troubleshooting and bug fixes.
- Keep abreast of web development techniques, standards, and advancements; make recommendations.
- Collaborate well with creative and technical staff, including production managers.
- Provide client satisfaction and promote lasting client relationships.
Qualifications:
- Two years of related work experience in web development with one year of experience with ASP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, VBScript, C#, Visual Studio, Dreamweaver, FrontPage and HTML development; OR a 2 or 4-year degree/certificate in web development or related area of computer science.
- Proven experience programming in ASP.NET, VB.NET, VBScript, C#, Visual Studio and HTML (hand-coding) without the need for WYSIWYG code editors.
- Strong understanding and experience with SQL, SQL Server and MySQL database environments.
- Strong understanding of PHP, DHTML, Perl, AJAX and JavaScript a plus.
- Proven experience with building e-commerce solutions and executing content management systems.
- Exceptional understanding of core web development concepts.
- Experience in a multi-platform environment, including Windows, UNIX and Mac OS.
- Thorough understanding of cross browser compatibility issues.
- Solid overall technical skills and good client communication and project leadership skills.
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills, including attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team with other web development team members.
- Respect for design and proven experience working with designers and other programmers in a collaborative environment.
